The Girl Who Chased Horses
Some stories don’t leave you.
Some moments mark you forever.
I was the girl who chased horses…
and somewhere along the way, I forgot who she was.
This is where I remember her.
🤎
This isn’t just my story.
It’s an invitation to remember yours.
Some moments mark you forever.

This isn’t just my story.

This is where Part 55 begins…
The Girl Who Chased Horses
But first, let’s remember your chapters…
Take a minute. Drop back to your youth.
What were you known for? What spirit did God put in you?
Do you still have it or did the enemy set out to destroy it? If he did, let’s get it back!
🤎
I am the girl who chased horses (and caught them!) and I am an overcomer! But boy did the enemy try to destroy me.
I invite you into this story of remembering who we are.
I’ve been away for years, from art and writing, beaten down so low.
God has yet again redeemed my life. Time and again, He finds us.
I want to remind you who you are and Whose you are. You are a beloved child of God Almighty. Hold your head up. Take heart.
You are going to be OK.
You are loved. You are not alone. You are seen. You are held. You matter.
Let’s remember it… and take back everything the enemy tried to steal from us.
How many of these were you?
How many do you still have?
Examples: brave, determined, kind, soft natured, adventurous, creative, organized, fun, silly, goofy, hilarious, disciplined, thrifty, funny, sweet, the one who kept their cool, smart, quick, witty, stern (in a good way), willing, ready, bright, hopeful, romantic, a dreamer, inventive, full of hope, and so many more… ready to take on the world!
Let’s get her back! (Or him).
I know you used to be someone like that…
And you will find her, too.

Part 55 - The Girl Who Chased Horses
You are not forgotten…
🤎
I am the Girl Who Chased Horses.
When I was young, I loved horses so much that I would ride any horse I could get my hands on.
I was fearless. I had a neighbor one time that said about some horses he had out in the field; If you can catch one, you can ride it.
I don’t think they thought I would actually catch one, but I did and I went on some rides of my life!
In chapter one, I shared my son’s horrific car accident where he was struck by one car and ran over by another, surviving, but with traumatic brain injury.
I shared a little of my upbringing, my mother being a drug dealer.
I wanted God.
Then, I up and married an alcoholic that unknown to me at the time was also a covert narcissist I thought I could rescue.
Also unknown to me… I would be torn down through decades until I didn’t recognize myself anymore and I was no longer fearless.

God has reminded me of who I am and against all odds and even the daily challenges I face now, He gives me strength, courage, hope, and a fight within to take back what the enemy stole.
And what I see personally and through comments you my friends have made, we want our life back. Some of us have been beat down. I’m here to tell you, that is not God’s plan for you.
I’m 62 years old. In May I will be 63. To all the older women like me, if you lost yourself… remember her!
Testify within your own heart, “I know you, I see you and I have not forgotten you.”
If you are young and haven’t lost yourself, take it from us who did for awhile, guard your heart with all diligence
and live the life God put you on earth to live.
To those of us who have endured more battles than most, you in particular, there is a certain kind of crown for you in heaven.
For now, raise your head up. You are worthy. You are still standing for a reason. I release every bit of hope, courage and strength God has poured into my broken places to flow through you.
Pass it on. Pray it on. Let His river of hope and healing flow.
Every single hurt… is in God’s heart to heal. You are not forgotten. You are seen.
Stand up… and receive it.
In Jesus Name
Amen

Part 56 — The Fight Within
Where something within begins to rise again
🤎
Rest here a bit…
Rest here a bit…
There comes a moment when you feel it…
That pull to rise.
To not stay where you’ve been.
Not out of striving…
but because something in you knows
this is not where your story ends.
This is where the fight begins.
Not a fight of fear or force…
but a quiet, steady decision
to believe what God says about you.
To release what was never yours to carry.
To let truth stand where lies once lived.
To not let your heart be pulled downward…
but lifted again, from within.
It doesn’t look loud.
It doesn’t always look strong.
But this kind of fight…
changes everything.
🤎
Don’t let the lies take root.
There is something in you worth standing for.
Take courage…
the strength to stand again is already within you.
You are not alone.
That pull to rise.
To not stay where you’ve been.
Not out of striving…
but because something in you knows
this is not where your story ends.

Part 57 - The You He Created
Come back to the voice God placed inside you.
🤎
Part 57 - The You He Created
Why let anything hold you back now?
Sometimes I think back to my childhood and my two grandmothers.
One rarely left the house. She sure could cook though, like no one else, but life mostly came to her.
I do not remember seeing much joy in her eyes.
My other grandmother could cook too, but she was different. She was brave. She stepped out into life.
She spread kindness wherever she went like a butterfly moving through the world.
One lived inward.
One lived outward.
Both knew about God.
One knew religion more...
and the other knew Jesus more.
And watching them taught me something.
Life is already hard enough. Why help fear do its job?
🤎
God is not standing over you waiting to crush your joy.
He is like a loving Father who delights to see you come alive.
He has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind.
The Creator of the universe created you to be you.
Do not hand that away.
Do not let people trample what God planted.
Wake up in the morning and ask Him:
What shall we do today?
Then listen for the small joy.
Maybe it is painting.
Maybe it is walking.
Maybe it is learning.
Maybe it is resting.
Maybe it is laughing again.
People talk about finding yourself.
Sometimes you do not need to go anywhere to do that.
Sometimes you simply need to become quiet enough to hear your own voice again.
Under all the noise.
Under all the fear.
Under all the opinions.
There you are.
Still there.
Even if life has limited what you can do, it does not have to crush who you are.
The girl still lives in you.
The boy still lives in you.
The dreamer.
The hopeful one.
The one who wanted to live.
God delights in that person.
He likes you.
He knows exactly who He made.
Be still once in a while and listen.
Your sacred place is inside.
That is where your voice is.
That is where your dreams are.
Dream with God, my friend.
Live deeply from that gentle place of realness.
Become the you He created.
